Baccarat is by all means really simple in terms of strategy. In fact, all you have to do to practice optimal baccarat strategy is bet on the banker to win every time; by doing this, you lower the house edge to 1.06%. Of course, this still leaves casinos with a small long-term advantage, and many players dedicate hours to figuring out how to gain an edge over casinos.
And where there's a will, there are lots of greedy salesman pitching products that will "help" people accomplish their goal. In the case of beating the baccarat house edge, there are baccarat eBooks on the internet that supposedly teach players the secrets that casinos don't want them to know.
Unfortunately, it's all too tempting to be drawn into these advertisements because they're very convincing. For example, most baccarat eBooks have a sales page that touts the worth or value of their product. You'll see lines that say "how to win consistently," "baccarat pro wants to share their secrets," "anybody can use this system to beat baccarat," etc. The sales page will also give reasons why most baccarat players lose, and give you vague hints of the system you're going to be shown that will win thousands in profits.
But as the old saying goes, if it sounds too good to be true, then it probably is. And such is the case with almost every baccarat eBook since these products normally involve complicated mathematical systems, or tips on baccarat card counting. As for the systems, people have been trying for years to beat the casino with baccarat systems, so don't expect to find anything revolutionary in an eBook.
In regards to baccarat card counting, this is actually a legitimate way to make long-term profits with the game - if you don't mind spending weeks on learning a trade that will net you a few pennies every day. So to summarize the main point, don't waste $40 or $50 buying a baccarat eBook because you're merely throwing your money down the drain. The house edge is already low enough, and if there's ever a true breakthrough in baccarat strategy, you'll probably hear about it.
