Going on a huge baccarat winning streak is an amazing experience for players because it enables them to pay off bills, buy a new car, or fix up the house afterward. Sadly, none of this is possible if you don't protect your winnings following a big baccarat winning streak. Such was the case with Kenny Chan, who won $10,000 playing baccarat in an Indiana casino, only to have the money stolen when he returned to his Chicago home late at night.
The 62-year-old was just steps away from his Chinatown apartment when one of the robbers approached Chan and demanded the money; Chan resisted and a scuffle ensued. Unfortunately, the robber had an accomplice who came up with a gun, and told Chan to hand over the money or he'd shoot.
After having his $10,000 in baccarat winnings stolen, the man's son, William Chan, spoke on his non-English-speaking father's behalf about the incident. William said, "He was thinking about getting a used car, some Christmas gifts and paying off some bills. He could have used it for something good."
This incident brings up a good point about how careful you have to be with baccarat winnings in the aftermath of your win. In Chan's instance, it was a freak occurrence that two robbers happened to be waiting outside of his house. But with this being said, if you win lots of money on the baccarat tables, perhaps it would be best to stay the night in the casino until morning. This is especially true if you live in a big city like Chicago because your chances of being robbed increase in the middle of the night.
As for leaving the casino, make sure to ask for a security escort when you either go to your room, or to the parking garage to get your car. The reason why is because sometimes criminals hang out in casinos waiting for big winners to leave the table alone. But if you leave with a security guard, your chances of being robbed decrease considerably. Above all, don't draw attention to yourself after a big baccarat session, and be on guard with lots of money in your pocket.
